How long have you been applying applications to lawns and ornamentals?
We have been doing lawn applications in Harrisonburg, Staunton, Bridgewater, Dayton, Penn Laird and surrounding towns, now going on ten years (2011).
What products do you use? Granular or Liquid?
We mostly use liquid applications to your lawn and it is better coverage. It also depends on the temperature, wind speed and time of year. Using granular products to control weeds in lawns is less effective than liquid. We use slow release granular applications during the later parts of Fall to have extended release for months.
Do you need to be licensed to apply any type of fertilizer or pesticides?
The answer to that is YES! Every company has to be licensed to apply granular or liquid fertilizer. Every company has to have a license to apply pesticides, fungicides, insecticides, etc. Please ask your lawn care provider if they are licensed. You may also look this information up at vdacs.virginia.gov/pesticides It will have a list of commericial applicators. Do not hire the company if they are not on this list. The companies on this list have been trained and will continue to train to keep their license.
Can you treat pests inside our home?
No, we are only licensed to treat on the turf or in shrub/ornamental areas. We are licensed in turf and ornamental. That is 3a and 3b in the state of Virginia.
When can the family and pets get on the areas treated?
After a service, First Class Lawn Care LLC advises customers to allow the application to dry before families and pets resume enjoying their lawns. A lawn will normally be dry 1-2 hours after treatment, but low temperatures, high humidity, low wind and cloudy conditions will increase the amount of time needed for the treatment to dry. Please do not mow for 24-48 hours after treatment.
How long of a timeframe is it between applications?
Usually with most of our programs it is 6 to 8 weeks between applications. This is the most effective amount of time for a beautiful lawn. We also can spot potential problems or recommend an application for grubs, insects, etc.
What should I do prior to my application?
You should make sure your gates are open and toys, etc. are picked up from the lawn or shrub areas. We reserve the right to refuse application if we have to pick up items before application. If you would like a notice before applications, just let us know.
What if I can’t be home for the service?
We will always check to see if you are home by knocking on the door. If you are not home at the end of the service we will leave a note or instructions about your visit. Please leave your gates open and your pets inside.
When will I see results of the application?
You should notice results within 10 to 14 days on your broadleaf weeds. Sometimes it will take longer because of the weather conditions, etc. Depending on the condition of your lawn, it can take time to have a great lawn. As First Class Lawn Care LLC spends more time working on your lawn, your lawn’s appearance will continue to improve. Every lawn and its challenges are unique, and we will provide progress updates and special instructions for your lawn at each service visit.
How do I cancel my service?
You may cancel your service by calling 540-820-4368. The service will continue from year to year unless you call us.
